KONIFER LIMITED WARRANTY

(PVC Windows, Aluminum Windows, Curtain Wall Systems & Sealed Units)

Warranty Coverage

KONIFER warrants that its supplied products, including:
• PVC Window Systems
• Aluminum Window Systems
• Curtain Wall Systems
• Sealed Insulated Glass Units (IGUs)

shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service conditions for a period of:

ONE (1) YEAR FROM DATE OF INVOICE

The warranty period shall commence strictly from the invoice date issued by KONIFER, regardless of installation date, occupancy, or project completion.

All products are designed and supplied in accordance with applicable industry standards, including:
• NAFS (North American Fenestration Standard)
• CSA A440 Series (Windows, Doors & Skylights)
• CSA A440.2 / A440.4 (Installation & Performance Guidelines)

Performance ratings are subject to project-specific design, installation, and environmental conditions.
This warranty is limited solely to:
• Manufacturing defects in materials
• Fabrication defects under controlled production conditions
• Failure of sealed units due to internal seal failure (fogging between panes)

At KONIFER’s sole discretion, remedies shall include:
• Repair of defective components
• Replacement of defective products
• Supply of equivalent replacement materials

No other remedies are implied or provided.
This warranty shall ONLY be valid if ALL of the following conditions are met:
• A valid KONIFER invoice is presented
• Full payment of the invoice has been received by KONIFER
• Products are installed in accordance with industry standards, shop drawings, and KONIFER guidelines
• Installation is carried out by qualified personnel
• Products are used under normal environmental and operational conditions
• Proper maintenance procedures are followed

Failure to meet ANY of the above conditions shall render this warranty null and void.
This warranty DOES NOT cover:
• Improper installation, handling, or storage
• Site conditions including structural movement, settlement, or deflection
• Water infiltration due to improper flashing, sealing, or interface by others
• Damage caused by other trades, contractors, or third parties
• Glass breakage after installation
• Thermal stress cracks, impact damage, or misuse
• Sealant failure not supplied or installed by KONIFER
• Normal wear and tear, discoloration, or minor surface variations
• Acts of God (fire, flood, windstorm, seismic activity, etc.)
• Improper cleaning, chemicals, or abrasive materials
KONIFER’s liability under this warranty is strictly limited to the original purchase value of the defective product only.

KONIFER shall NOT be liable for:
• Labour costs (installation, removal, reinstallation)
• Access costs (scaffolding, lifts, etc.)
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Project delays or loss of use
• Third-party claims

All warranty claims must:
1. Be submitted in writing within the warranty period
2. Include original KONIFER invoice reference
3. Provide photographic evidence of the issue
4. Allow KONIFER reasonable access for inspection

KONIFER reserves the right to inspect, verify, and determine validity of all claims prior to any action.

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser named on the KONIFER invoice.
This warranty supersedes all other warranties, expressed or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
KONIFER products are engineered and supplied to meet recognized industry standards. However, building performance is dependent on proper design, coordination, and installation by others.

INSULATED GLASS UNIT (IGU) LIMITED WARRANTY**

Warranty Coverage
KONIFER warrants that all Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) supplied by KONIFER shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship that result in:
• Failure of the hermetic seal
• Obstruction of vision due to moisture, fogging, or film formation between glass panes

for a period of:

ONE (1) YEAR FROM DATE OF KONIFER INVOICE
IGUs are manufactured in accordance with applicable standards, including:
• CSA A440 Series – Windows, Doors and Skylights
• CAN/CGSB-12.8 – Insulating Glass Units
• NAFS (North American Fenestration Standard)

Performance is subject to compliance with installation, glazing systems, and project-specific design conditions.
This warranty applies only to:
• Factory-sealed insulating glass units
• Seal failure resulting in internal condensation or visual obstruction
• Manufacturing defects in spacer, sealant, or assembly under controlled production conditions

At KONIFER’s sole discretion, the remedy shall be limited to:
• Replacement of defective IGU units (FOB supply only)
• Repair where deemed appropriate by KONIFER
This warranty shall only be valid if ALL of the following conditions are met:
• Valid KONIFER invoice is provided
• Full payment has been received
• IGUs are installed in accordance with:
o Approved shop drawings
o Industry glazing standards
o Manufacturer recommendations
• Proper edge clearances, glazing pockets, and drainage systems are maintained
• Compatible glazing sealants and setting blocks are used
• Units are not subjected to abnormal stress, movement, or thermal conditions

Failure to comply with ANY of the above shall void this warranty.
A. Installation & Site Conditions
• Improper glazing, installation, or handling
• Inadequate frame drainage or ventilation
• Structural movement, deflection, or building settlement
• Improper setting blocks, shims, or edge support

B. Glass-Related Exclusions
• Glass breakage after installation
• Thermal stress cracks
• Impact damage or misuse
• Scratches, abrasions, or surface damage

C. Environmental Conditions
• High humidity environments (pools, spas, industrial areas)
• Chemical exposure, pollutants, or aggressive cleaning agents
• Coastal or corrosive environments without proper specification

D. Sealant & Compatibility
• Failure of field-applied sealants
• Chemical incompatibility between glazing materials and sealants
• Use of non-approved glazing systems

E. Design & Performance
• Improper glass selection for wind load, thermal load, or altitude
• Altitude-related pressure changes not accounted for in design
• Optical distortions inherent in glass (including roller wave, bow, or anisotropy)
KONIFER’s liability is strictly limited to:
• The original cost of the IGU supplied

KONIFER shall NOT be responsible for:
• Labour (removal, reinstallation, access equipment)
• Scaffolding, swing stages, or cranes
• Damage to surrounding materials
• Project delays or loss of use
• Indirect or consequential damages
To initiate a warranty claim, the claimant must:
1. Submit written notice within the warranty period
2. Provide:
o KONIFER invoice number
o Project details and installation date
o Photographic evidence
3. Allow KONIFER reasonable access for inspection

KONIFER reserves the sole right to:
• Inspect the installation
• Verify conditions
• Approve or reject the claim
IGUs must:
• Be stored in a dry, ventilated area
• Be protected from moisture, dirt, and mechanical damage
• Not be exposed to standing water or prolonged UV exposure prior to installation

Failure to follow proper storage procedures voids warranty.
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser listed on the KONIFER invoice.
KONIFER IGUs are manufactured to meet recognized industry standards. However, long-term performance is dependent on:
• Proper system design
• Correct installation practices
• Appropriate environmental conditions

KONIFER’s responsibility is limited strictly to the manufacture and supply of compliant IGUs.
